Daddy, can I talk to you? Hold me in your chair.
I heard about some things at school that kind of got me scared.
Somewhere called Hiroshima, daddy, a lot of people died.
I saw the pictures all in school, and it made me want to cry.

Daddy, did you know that it could happen anywhere?
That lots of people got those bombs, and noone seems to care.
So I’m gonna write a letter, dad. I’m not sure what I’ll say.
But maybe if it’s good enough they’ll throw those bombs away.

Chorus:
I’ll write, “Dear world, I really love you.
And I want to hold your hand
I know my arms won’t reach you all, but I’m sure my heart can.
I’ll seal the letter with a kiss, and send it right along.
Dear world, take my love and pass it on.”

The whole world all loves puppies, daddy, and flowers when they grow.
I think we can all be friends. Oh, daddy won’t you make it so?
So I’m going to write some letters, dad, to all the boys and girls,
Moms and dads, and kings and queens, across the whole wide world.
